Chief of Police Ricky King is a veteran of the Center Police Department with 22 years of service. As the Chief of Police, he commands a department comprised of over 30 employees (27 sworn).
Chief King began his career with the Center Police Department in December 2003. During his years of service with the department, he has had the opportunity to work in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics, and Administrative Divisions. Prior to promoting, he established the department’s first narcotics investigation unit, working undercover for several years. Chief King was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2012, where he supervised a patrol shift and the narcotics division. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2022, where he supervised both patrol and the criminal investigation divisions. In 2024, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief upon the announcement of Chief Albers retirement. During his time as the Assistant Chief, he oversaw the budget of the department and all department staff. In April of 2025, he was promoted as the City of Centers eighth official Chief of Police, where he strives to continue excellence by providing his employees with the equipment and training that they need to provide the service that the community needs. Chief King is committed to integrity, transparency, and partnership with the community, pledging to protect and serve with honor, fairness, and accountability.
Administrative / Investigative Division
Lieutenant Andrew Williams
Lieutenant Williams is responsible for all administrative functions, oversees the criminal investigation division, communications, civilian staff, and records.
Patrol Lieutenant
Lieutenant Jacob Gross
Lieutenant Gross oversees the patrol division, animal control, and code enforcement.
