City to Host New Home Buyer Classes

CENTER, Texas (August 9, 2011) – The City of Center announces the availability of a free home buyer workshop. The workshops will be held on Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Windham Civic Center. The registration fee is waived for the first 25 people to register. You must attend both sessions to receive a certificate. Receiving the certificate and proving you completed the course may help you qualify for certain homebuyer programs from the state and federal government. To register for the workshops, call 1-866-751-4646 extension 227.

The topics covered in the workshop include: determining if you are ready for homeownership, learning how to prepare for homeownership, how to avoid first time homebuyer mistakes, learning about mortgages and credit scores, and the loans and available down payment programs.
