The City of Center has recently upgraded its' emergency notification system. The City is now using the CodeRED Emergency Notification system. It is a ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications and the distribution of information considered to be important. This system allows the City to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation that required immediate action, such as a weather emergency, evacuation, water outages, hazardous chemical spills, etc.
This system is capable of dialing to a live person or an answering machine in the affected area, possibly including instructions requiring immediate action on the part of the recipient.
While a calling database was created by extracting information from the City's computerized files and other public record sources, it is certain that not all phone numbers of residents and property owners were included. If you reside or own property withing the incorporated city limits of Center, and would like to receive CodeRED emergency messages, you may sign up by clicking the link below.
IMPORTANT: USE YOUR PHYSICAL CITY ADDRESS; DO NOT USE A POST OFFICE OR OUT OF TOWN ADDRESS. The numbers that will show up on your caller ID will be 1-866-419-5000 for CodeRED and 1-800-566-9780 for the Weather Warning.
Should you at anytime desired to be removed from the system, contact the Center Fire Department and speak with Chief Keith Byndom at 936/598-3288 during normal business hours.
We are encouraging all residents to please click on the link below and sign up for this service. https://login.coderedweb.com/codereddataentry/Default.aspx?groupid=GbMHg4nQCPqNGLohbrEGZw%3d%3d
