Coffee With The Mayor

Location:
Windham Civic Center Lobby

Please join Mayor David Chadwick as we kick off the first "Coffee with the Mayor" at the Windham Civic Center on Tuesday, May 7, 2011, at 7:30 am.

Mayor Chadwick said that this event, “is a means for us at the city to meet with people in the community and learn what is important to them.”

“City Council meetings are structured because of state Open Meetings Laws, unless something is clearly posted on the formal agenda, and there is little interaction that the Council is supposed to have with public at the meetings,” described the Mayor.  “We have to comply with the Open Meetings Act which prohibits problem solving discussion on any topic.  By having some informal meetings without a meeting agenda, it allows a good open dialogue between the City and the people we serve”.

The Mayor further explained that he wants these meetings to be very positive and constructive to bring fresh ideas on how to make Center an even better place to work and do business.

“We hope to get a lot of good information from these events ,” explained City Manager Chad Nehring, “that will help us to plan and give us some feedback on our operations.”

The event does not require an RSVP and is an informal setting that is come and go.  Coffee with the Mayor will be held on each Tuesday morning starting at 8:00 in the Lobby of the Windham Civic Center.
