POPULAR PORTACOOL PARK SPRAYGROUND REHAB WORK APPROVED

CENTER, Texas (August 22, 2019) –  At the August 12^th meeting, the City Council approved an item authorizing repairs and minor enhancements of the sprayground at Portacool Park.  Since it was opened in 2012, this feature has been one of the most popular park amenities.  “This is one of the most used park areas and obviously appreciated by our citizens,” stated Mayor Chadwick.  The repairs will allow for the replacement of the operating sensor that has proved difficult to find quality replacement parts as well as the computerized controller unit.  Both have exhibited problems the last two seasons creating issues for users.  Also included will be some repair of the actual water “toys” that have developed leaks and seal issues over time.  Additionally, during the renovation, the play area will be resurfaced to restore it to its original finish.

“By doing this work now, we insure that this park amenity will be quality for a very long time,” Chadwick said.
